On #GivingTuesday, November 27, 2018, we invite our community members to give back to SDN. Your support, either through input or donations, will help ensure that we can continue to support future doctors and the patients and communities they will serve.
After a week of Thanksgiving festivities, food, football, and shopping, #GivingTuesday is an opportunity to pause and give back to organizations whose work has meaning in your life. The growing annual movement provides a new ritual that opens the giving season and encourages people to come together to champion causes they believe in.
Student Doctor Network is an educational 501(c)(3) non-profit, created for students, by students, and dedicated to building a diverse doctor workforce. Today SDN is run by volunteers and a small team of part-time employees, supporting thousands of website visitors every day by providing free and at-cost resources to tomorrow’s healthcare professionals. Over half of SDN members are nontraditional students, coming to a healthcare career from unique and diverse backgrounds.
From informational articles and school reviews to study plans, interview planning tools, and connection with like-minded people via the forum community, Student Doctor Network has already impacted a generation of physicians and healthcare professionals since it was founded in 1999. Now we need your help! Come together with the SDN community on #GivingTuesday to ensure continued support for the next generation.
SDN has grown through the years because of the generous individual contributions of thousands of members. Every member has something to give that will benefit the SDN community and assist future doctors, dentists, veterinarians, and other healthcare professionals.

We’ve been on the Internet for over 20 years doing just one thing: providing health career information for free or at cost. We do this because we believe that the health education process is too expensive and too competitive. Many people and organizations have built their businesses making money on students who are desperate for any opportunity to become a doctor.
We believe that all students deserve the same access to high-quality information. We believe that providing high-quality career advice and information ensures that everyone, regardless of income or privilege, has a chance to achieve their dream of being a doctor.
SDN is published by the Health Professional Student Association, a nonprofit educational organization.
