School Info

All Saints University was founded by a group of dedicated medical and business professionals, all of whom had over 20 years of experience in medical education. The University opened its doors to 28 new students in April 2006 to provide students a better approach to educating the next generation of physicians at affordable fees. With its current population of over 1000 medical students and hundreds of graduates at various stages of their postgraduate or residency training, the university has been able to establish itself as a medical school to reckon with.

Curriculum

The 4-Year MD program can be completed in 3 years and 4 months. Admission into the 4-year program requires a Bachelor Degree or completion of at least two years of post secondary education, which must include successful completion of premedical admission requirements such as: Biology - 90 semester hours; Chemistry - 90 semester hours; Physics - 90 semester hours; and one year of Mathematics or Calculus, English and Humanities or Liberal Arts. Facilities

The Basic Medical Science campus of All Saints University School of Medicine is located in the city of Roseau, the capital of Dominica. The Roseau campus comprises structures on about 40,000 square feet of space. Additional structures on the permanent site of the University, a few minutes away from Roseau are underway. The Classrooms are well equipped with state of the art facilities to provide an atmosphere conducive to learning. The laboratories include a well-equipped histopathology laboratory, physiology / biochemistry laboratory and an anatomy dissection laboratory capable of accommodating 40 students at a time. The Library supports teaching and learning and it contains tens of thousands of easily accessible journal articles, medical texts, research and instructional materials and computers. Individual cubicle study areas are also provided inside the library and are designated as "Quiet Study Area", away from the "Group Study Hall". The modern on-campus cafeteria provides a variety of food and refreshment options. There is a lounge area and gym room for students to relax or work out. There is round-the-clock security on campus to ensure safety of students and other members of the University. All Saints also has its own bus service for students at a lesser cost than public transportation. Interested students are transported directly from residence to campus and back. Houses, apartments and rooms belonging to the local community are available for rent to students. The housing coordinator of the school makes all necessary arrangements to accommodate students upon their arrival in Dominica.

About the LizzyM Score

LizzyM, SDN Moderator and medical school admissions committee member, is the inventor of the LizzyM Score. The score allows you to see if you are a competitive applicant at a given school. If your LizzyM Score is far below or above the average, you may not be a good fit. If your score is far below, your application may be screened out due to numerical cutoffs. If it is far above, the school may assume they are your “safety” school and that you won’t attend if they offer an acceptance. This score should be used only as a guide to help you select schools and is not a guarantee of acceptance at any school. If you use this as your sole criteria to select medical schools to apply to, you don’t deserve to get in anyway.
