The Basics

Overall, how satisfied are you with this program?

Response Avg # Responders
4.00 2

0 = Terrible, 10 = World Class

What do you like most?

"The exposure to interesting topics in healthcare that are not 100% medicine-related. When preparing for clerkships in low-resource areas, we learn about the language and culture of the countries we are headed to. The global clerkship experience is one of the most salient moments of our medical school experience." | Report Response

"It gives you third-world experience for future career decisions" | Report Response

What do you like least?

"The administration is inflexible regarding most student issues and the scheduling of classes is incredibly erratic to the point of switching the scheduled class two hours before it is supposed to take place." | Report Response

"The administration does not want their students to succeed and does not even follow their own policies. Nobody associated with the school replies to phone calls or emails in any acceptable amount of time and everyone takes vacations so you can never get any financial things or registration things completed. The administration will attempt to fail you or expel you for any reason at all, including if another student simply lies about your performance. In addition, they think that you are a cheater if you are at the top of your class." | Report Response

What are the facilities and clinics like (old/new, well maintained, etc.)?

"The classrooms and simulations are state-of-the-art and the clinical facilities are a mixed bag. The hospital is older but is constantly being renovated and improved. It is an interesting mix of old-school and cutting-edge." | Report Response

How do students from this program do after graduation - are they adequately prepared for practice?

"The vast majority of students feel prepared and succeed after graduation. The only thing the students feel unprepared for is the American healthcare system bureaucracy, because they had just spent four years adjusting to the Israeli healthcare system." | Report Response

"they can get good residencies but not typically at prestigious universities or in competitive residencies" | Report Response

What are rotations like?

"The rotations largely depend on the preceptor. If the Doctor feels that things should be run like a tight ship, they will do so, but overwhelmingly the Doctors are relaxed, helpful, and happy to help the students learn. There is a great amount of exposure to different treatment procedures as well." | Report Response

How do students from this program do in the Match?

"The overwhelming majority match first-round, however, that statistic is slightly skewed by the number of students who remain in Israel to do residency." | Report Response

Any other information you want to share?

"The program is a culture shock at first, but the students' easy-going nature and almost familial feel in the years above and below allow for an easier transition. One piece of advice is to check if your comfort food exists in Israel and, if not, figure out how to have a supply. Though the program is good and manageable, it is medical school so remember that things will be stressful." | Report Response

"Do not attend MSIH!" | Report Response
