0 = Terrible, 10 = World Class

What do you like most?

"Immersion into the clinic with emphasis on history and physical exam early on. Integration of anatamoge, radiology and butterfly ultrasound devices in first year of cadaveric anatomy class. Strong match list. Affiliated with The Jackson Laboratories for Genomic Medicine where there are top scientists for early bench research experiences, as well as opportunities for dual degrees and fellowships such as HHMI, NIH, Sarnoff, etc." | Report Response

"Small class (~90) but Pre-clinical years are combined with dental school (another 40 people). Clinical sites are nearby with varied patient population, including a VA. Lots of emphasis on clinical training, strong physical exam and history taking emphasis, even in pre-clinical years. 1/2 day per week of primary care clinic beginning in September of MS 1." | Report Response

"Cooperative environment" | Report Response

What do you like least?

"Although a strength for some, the mandatory public health certificate may encumber time that could be spent for research/shadowing etc. depending on your personal interests. They emphasis training physicians for primary care, though we match into more competitive specialties every year. Must find your own mentor early on to understand different opportunities (an issue probably not specific to this school)." | Report Response

"The administration is a little bit aloof, sometimes hard to access." | Report Response

About the LizzyM Score

LizzyM, SDN Moderator and medical school admissions committee member, is the inventor of the LizzyM Score. The score allows you to see if you are a competitive applicant at a given school. If your LizzyM Score is far below or above the average, you may not be a good fit. If your score is far below, your application may be screened out due to numerical cutoffs. If it is far above, the school may assume they are your “safety” school and that you won’t attend if they offer an acceptance. This score should be used only as a guide to help you select schools and is not a guarantee of acceptance at any school. If you use this as your sole criteria to select medical schools to apply to, you don’t deserve to get in anyway.
