"parking isn't great, and a car is pretty necessary. the Weather was below zero and whiteout conditions (couldn't see another building from the 9th floor cafeteria) which may deter some southerners, but I was used to it" Report Response
"You have to choose your 3rd year location (Syracuse or Binghamton) up front, with little or no opportunity to change later on" Report Response
"Day is well structured, admissions committee very friendly. They emphasize low-stress interviews. My first interview was a 15 minute walk away in blizzard conditions and my interviewer rushed things a bit because she squeezed me in between patients, but she was still receptive and seemed satisfied with my answers. The second interviewer was enthusiastic about getting to know me as a person and was very informative about the school's many clinical programs. The interviews were pretty conversational in tone, with getting-to-know you questions rather than a barrage of medical ethics questions. Upstate is definitely primary care oriented, especially if you choose Binghamton. If you are used to big city life, you may not be happy in Syracuse. " Report Response
