"Where else are you applying?" Report Response | I was asked this question too
"Why Louisville?" Report Response | I was asked this question too
"Would you identify yourself as a self-starter or would you say that you prefer to recieve more guidance from your faculty mentor?" Report Response | I was asked this question too
"What career path would you have chosen if not clinical psychology? ''If you don't mind me asking, what other schools did you apply to?''" Report Response | I was asked this question too
"What are your biggest pet peeves? --by a grad student who was just trying to get to know me personality-wise. It caught me off-guard and I couldn't think of anything at first. Also, one of the professor's asked me something specific about the facial expressivity coding system I used in my honor's thesis, which I couldn't remember much about on the spot." Report Response | I was asked this question too
"Read up on POI's publications, researched the school's location/ facilities. Used SDN clinical psych forum to make a list of potential interview questions, and answered them in writing and aloud to myself" Report Response
"My POIs interests match much closer with mine. The web site is a bit deceiving b/c Dr. Lewine has changed his interests toward more family-based research, which you wouldn't know from his previous publications or the department web site. Also, the stipend is high compared to other programs ($22000) and faculty guarantee funding for at least 4 years." Report Response
"I didn't get to see the city very much and there were a few applicants who I hope I don't have to work with if I'm accepted and decide to go. Also, I'm a Democrat, which seems to be a minority group even on campus." Report Response
"That my POIs interests actually aligned with mine exactly. I went into it worried about the research match, and it turns out I was selected in part because my background is ideal for his upcoming projects." Report Response
"The location is not ideal, but I'm definitely considering Louisville. The faculty seem supportive, but it's clear they won't micro-manage your life, so you have to be somewhat of a self-starter. If you're looking for external research funding, then this is probably not your top choice; however, the stipend is quite high so it makes up for it. " Report Response
